After forty years in business France Congrès has become a think-tank on the conference industry in France. In our surveys we analyse, assess and forecast, we thus help convention centres adapt to the ever-changing environment.

Survey of economic benefits
The Ministry of Tourism funded 50% of the project leading to the methodology that has been applied since 1999. It enables towns to accurately assess the economic significance of their convention centres for the local economy. The survey includes a representative sample of 40 convention centres outside Paris. Every year France Congrès is able to provide clear indications as to the economic activities of convention centres across France.

Review of participants’ spending
Together with the Observation department of ODIT France, France Congrès reviews participants’ spending in some twenty French towns. This aims at getting a clear understanding of the financial impact on the local economy of hosting such meetings. It follows and supplements the annual review of social and economic benefits conducted since 1999. The review is accessible exclusively to France Congrès member towns.

Review of rates
This review, conducted in 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2004, lists the price of services offered by convention centres: cost of auditoriums, meeting rooms, and expo areas; cost of facilities and staff; cost of other services. This enables convention centres to compare their prices and adjust their commercial policy. The review is accessible exclusively to France Congrès member towns involved in the project.

Competitiveness review
Together with the Tourism Directorate, DATAR (the French national and regional development agency), Maison de la France and the Paris Tourist and Conference Office, France Congrès has embarked on a competitiveness review of France in Europe. It will include the type and amount of services offered, operating budgets, and projects underway. The review will include 15 countries: the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. The review is accessible exclusively to France Congrès member towns.
